June 1st-5th, 2015 at UCL: Meet the Expert: Dr Frederic DELSUC provides a one-week training in phylogenetics and phylogenomics!

Added Thursday 16 April 2015

Dear PhD-students and postdocs in Ecology and Evolution,

The BEE doctoral school organizes a one-week training with Dr. Frédéric Delsuc, from the university of Montpellier (France), on phylogenetic reconstruction and phylogenomics.

This course will take place over 10 half-days of 3 hours each (a third of theoretical lecture and two thirds of computer practical). It is designed for people who want to learn the probabilistic methods of phylogenetic reconstruction (maximum likelihood, Bayesian inference, and gene tree/species tree approaches) by practicing through both dedicated web portals and unix command line interface. For each session, an introduction on the basics of the proposed methods will be followed by examples of practical applications on empirical data.

It will take place at UCL (Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium), on June 1st to 5th, 2015.

The number of participants is limited to 25 and a participation fee of 100 Euros is requested.

In case you would like to attend the training, please apply by sending an email to camille.turlure@uclouvain.be, with your name, email, position and institution before May 10th, 2015.

More information at https://www.uclouvain.be/511283.html.

As the number of participants is limited, selection will be based on the date of application followed by payment and an email of confirmation will be sent the selected persons on May 15th.

Many thanks in advance!

The organisers,

Camille Turlure and Caroline Nieberding.
