PLASMA AND ION-BASED TECHNOLOGIES
 FOR SURFACE MODIFICATIONS

Dear Colleagues,

On June 24th 2020, UMONS, WBI and EFDS will organize at the Hotel Van der Valk in Mons (Belgium) a workshop dedicated to plasma and ion-based technologies for surface modifications.  During this one-day workshop, renowned experts from both the academic and the industrial worlds will provide the audience with an in-depth view of the latest German and Walloon developments in the field of plasma and ion-based surface modifications.

INVITED SPEAKERS :

  • A. ANDERS, IOM, Leipzig (GER): “Plasma and Ion Sources at the Leibniz Institute of Surface Engineering“
  • S. LUCAS, LARN, UNAMUR, Namur (BEL): “Low pressure plasma synthesis and surface functionalization of nano particles: from simulation to practical use”
  • J. EMMERLICH, ROBERT BOSCH GmbH, Stuttgart und Umgebung (GER): “Synthesis and property analysis of DLC coating for a wide range of industrially relevant applications”
  • F.RENIERS, CHANI, ULB, Brussels (BEL): “Deposition of coating using cold atmospheric plasmas: from the synthesis of plasma polymers to the growth of crystalline inorganic thin films”
  • M.VERGöHL, FRAUNHOFER IST, Braunschweig (GER): “Sputtering Technology for precision optic”
  • S.KONSTANTINIDIS, CHIPS, UMONS Mons (BEL): “Magnetrons for the synthesis of thin films and nano-objects”
  • A. VON KEUDELL, RUHR-UNIVERSITäT BOCHUM, Bochum (GER): “High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering - Extreme Plasmas for Extreme Materials”
  • F.RENAUX, IONICS, Liers (BEL): “Combining ion implantation and PVD magnetron sputtering for enhanced and durable mechanical properties: application to metal and balls bearing”
  • J.M. SCHNEIDER, RWTH Aachen (GER): “Are hard coatings predictable ?”
  • A.DANIEL, CRM Group, Liège (BEL): "Plasma coating applications: from lab to insustrial scale"

The workshop is intended for scientists from Industry and Academia as well as students. A poster session will be organized during lunchtime.

Deadline for registration is June 10th 2020.

The detailed program of the workshop as well as registration and relevant information are available on the website.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Mons,
