Development scientist NANEUM
Development Scientist:
Naneum Ltd. is a fast growing, start-up company based in Canterbury in the Southeast
of England, specialising in the development and marketing of portable, easy-to-use
instruments for the detection and characterisation of airborne nanoparticles. Naneum
has recently successfully launched a range of instruments which are specifically
designed for use in the workplace and in the field, and has a pipeline of further
innovations which are in the process of being brought to market.
We are now seeking a high quality post graduate or post doctorate to join the
development team based in the Canterbury Enterprise Hub at the University of Kent,
on a permanent contract. (
As part of a small, but rapidly growing team there will be opportunities for personal
growth and development.
The successful candidate will join a small, highly qualified team as Development
Scientist. The Team is responsible for a number of projects developing innovative and
market leading instruments for the characterisation of airborne nanoparticles.
Reporting to the Technology Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to
make a significant contribution to the successful delivery of complex development
projects involving breakthrough technology.
Depending on capabilities, candidates will be given a large measure of autonomy,
managing significant parts of projects.
Activities will include:
o Leading role in the design and development of novel nano detection
o Building and testing novel instrumentation.
o Providing technical support at customers
Education and capabilities:
o Degree in Aerosol Science, Physics, Engineering or Chemistry.
o Innovative approach to solving technical problems
o Ability to design and manage technical work programmes
o Ability to meet deadlines
o Fluent spoken and written English
