International post-graduate course on Protein Quality Control

Scientists currently using or intending to use purified proteins in their laboratory experiments are welcome to participate to this course.
By the end of the course, participants should be familiar with a variety of techniques applicable to purified proteins, ultimately enhancing the reliability and reproducibility of data in downstream applications involving these proteins.

Programme

We offer a 4-day course comprising lectures on protein expression and purification techniques, and methods for assessing the quality of purified protein samples. Additionally, participants will have hands-on practical sessions demonstrating how to apply these experiments for protein quality control. Topics included in the course:

Day 1
Protein expression, purification and QC; Overview of protein expression methods; Overview of protein purification methods; Guidelines for protein quality control

Day 2
PAGE, Protein concentration and optical properties of protein; Determination of protein concentration; Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis;
Absorbance, fluorescence, circular dichroism; Hydrogen-deuterium exchange applications in protein quality control

Day 3
Quality control tests; Light scattering and mass photometry; Mass spectrometry;

Day 4
Storage, formulation and extended tests; Differential scanning fluorimetry; Protein storage and formulation; Protein-protein interactions

Deadline for registration is April 30th, 2025
