The FNRS doctoral school on “Structure and function of biological macromolecules, bioinformatics and modelling (SFMBBM)” is organizing a two-day workshop on the use of Pymol and AlphaFold for the manipulation and prediction of protein structures (see program below). This workshop will be given by Prof. Frédéric Kerff (ULiège) at the Sart Tilman campus on September 7-8th .
Sep 7th
9h – 10h30 PyMOL for beginners
10h45 – 12h15 Using the command line and PyMOL scripts.
13h30 – 15h30 Using selections and superimpositions efficiently in PyMOL
Sep 8th
9h – 10h30 Electron density maps, electrostatic surfaces and B-factors
10h45 – 12h15 Creating movies in PyMOL
13h30 – 15h30 Using Alphafold for the prediction of protein structures, focus on oligomers and complexes.
Participation is free of charge but limited to 20 PhD students. For registration, please send an email to Frédéric Kerff (fkerff@uliege.be) before August 25th and specifying your name, research group/institution and date of PhD start.
